I am a traveller, not in the literal sense of it, but I always tend to look at the outside world and marvel at the many wonderful things happening. I tend to sample topics from the following areas:

  • R
  • Python
  • emacs
  • org-mode
  • Frequentist Statistics
  • Bayesian Statistics
  • Stochastic Processes
  • Machine Learning
  • Linear Algebra
  • Convex Optimization
  • Deep Learning
  • Natural Language Processing
  • Non Fiction Books
  • General Physics
  • Data Visualization and Story telling
  • Sitar
  • Hindustani Classical Music
  • Math/Statistical Models across various disciplines
  • Mid frequency trading models
  • High frequency trading models
  • Cloud Computing
  • Meta Learning
  • Origins of Probability
  • Information Theory
  • Exchange Traded Funds
  • Alternative Data

I tend to pick up a random topic from the above sample and spend some time understanding the topic. Then I move on to the next random topic. In this way, I don’t get fixated on one specific area. I have experimented with ways to learn a variety of things. Finally I have found this random sampling approach to be the best approach to learn a bunch of things on a sustainable basis. Ofcourse, there needs to be a good enough repetition of the topics and hence have built in a spaced repetition schedule over the last decade or so.

The purpose of this blog is to put down in words, images, code, all my experiences in the learning journey called Life
